1. How do I attach the Velcro strips on my Hookit Gear product?

To ensure a secure and effective attachment of the Velcro strips, follow these simple steps:

  • Locate the attachment areas: Identify the designated areas on your laptop and hard drive where the Velcro strips will be applied. These are usually marked or outlined in the product instructions
  • Clean the surface: Before attaching the Velcro strips, make sure the surfaces are clean and dry. Use a soft cloth to remove any dust or residue to ensure strong adhesion.
  • Apply the Velcro strips: Peel off the backing from the adhesive side of the Velcro strips. Firmly press the strips onto the cleaned surfaces of both your laptop and hard drive. Ensure that the Velcro strips are aligned correctly and applied evenly for a secure hold.
  • Press and hold: Press down on the Velcro strips for a few seconds to ensure they adhere properly. This will help the adhesive bond well with the surfaces. Ideally you should leave it overnight without touching it for maximum hold!
  • Attach and Secure: Once the Velcro strips are in place and secured, attach your hard drive to the laptop. The strong adhesive will keep your hard drive securely in place, even during movement.

2. Where should I attach the Hookit Velcro strips on my computer?

We recommend attaching the Hookit Velcro strips on the bottom half of your laptop screen but not too low. This way, when you open your laptob on the table, the hard drive won't touch the table. Apply one strip to the laptop screen and the other to the back of your hard drive. This will keep your hard drive securely attached while allowing for easy movement.
